Big Boi

Zilker Park, Sept. 16

As the pimped-out yin to Andre's cosmic yang, Big Boi dropped some of the illest bars of the last 15 years as half of OutKast. As a reminder, he immediately launched into a medley of classics, slangin' gator belts and patty melts on "Skew It on the Bar-B," "Rosa Parks," and "So Fresh, So Clean." Backed by a live octet of ATLiens, the Savannah Chitlin Pimp segued into the thunder funk of "General Patton" and "Daddy Fat Sax" from solo debut Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty before inviting a couple dozen ladies onstage for "The Way You Move." The crowd hopped in the time machine – in my head it's a retrofitted candy–painted Cadillac – for "Player's Ball" and "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik." Adding an unneeded stamp to his hood pass, Big Boi stepped aside for Houston's Trae tha Truth to perform "Getting Paid." Oh, and just in case you forgot, "OutKast for life, suckas!"
