Flipnotics on Barton Springs Road celebrates its 15-year anniversary in October. "Flipnotics was our South Austin home until the people started complaining about live music coming out of there," recalls the Gourds' Kevin Russell. "Every show I played there was memorable for me. It's like a little church. People really listen to every little thing you do." Along with monthlong daily specials, Flipnotics commemorates the occasion Sunday afternoon with a free party in Triangle Park, outside its new location on Guadalupe, with the Gourds, Paris 49, the Hudsons, the Bells of Joy, and T. Jarrod Bonta. Proceeds benefit the SIMS Foundation.
