Sherlock's Baker St. Pub & Grill

9012 Research Ste. 1-C, Austin, 78758, 512/380-9443
The North Austin location of this Houston-bred UK pub chain boasts oceans of parking, an extensive pub grub menu, and 27 beers on tap. Besides the requisite armada of big screen TVs, dart boards, and Union Jack bric-a-brac, Sherlock’s features live music four nights a week. Eighties-centric cover bands rule the roster, with versatile outfits like Radiostar and Dysfunkshun Junkshun turning up frequently. A happy hour that runs until 9pm Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday cinches the deal. Austin Live Band Karaoke plays every Wednesday.

Word got out that the burgers are divine, and soon we discovered a varied and plenty appetizer menu. Our mouths were too full of Parmesan fries to take it all in, but we know the Chicken-Fried Beef Tenderloin takes the sports bar menu to a new respectability. Never fear for thirst – the beer selection here is terrific.

Flying Saucer

Big TVs hover over the bar, the dining room, and the biergarten. Saucer burgers, saucer pies, and 220 beer varieties round out the night.

Pour House Pub

A family-friendly pub with an affordable, broad selection of draft pints caters to parents with reliable burger standards and to kids with sliders – but, unfortunately, no slides.
