A simple, unpretentious, and loud, bricked-in Eastside rock room, the Badlands has the same vibe as a basement show. The mid-sized venue, opened in 2014 by Shane and Shannon Howard (owners of the neighboring Romani Gallery), stages blue-collar bands from the rock, punk, and metal leagues and features a small smoking patio. Those who tread off the beaten path to Badlands never leave hungry because the kitchen serves up a bounty of deluxe hot dogs with locally sourced ingredients and an all-Texas bar.

This Manor Road pub is geared toward sandwich-loving beer drinkers, and claims fame for fantastic poutine, a Canadian dish featuring french fries topped with cheese curds and drenched in gravy.

Walking the line between kitschy and nostalgic, this old house plays host with a draft list heavy on dark malts. The options in bottles, bombers, and cans make up the difference.
