More: Italian restaurants, Downtown

Brick Oven Restaurant

This restaurant serves some of the best homestyle thin-crust pizzas (including plenty of gluten-free options) and has Italian lunch specials that can be enjoyed alfresco.

1209 Red River, 512/477-7006

Carmelo's Ristorante

This restaurant offers an upscale Italian and Continental menu in a beautifully restored Downtown railroad hotel. Catch live accordion music five nights a week.

504 E. Fifth, 512/477-7497

Frank & Angie's Pizzeria

Some things never change, like the quality of these pies, and the De Niro sandwich – homemade foccacia with giant meatballs. Baked Eggplant Provolone on spaghetti sounds good to us, as well. The wine list is well-curated, and pairs well with the main courses here.

508 West Ave., 512/472-3534
