Mi Casa Tamales
503 E. Sixth, 512/686-6096
Hours: Wed.-Sun., 7pm-2am
This place is a purveyor of two things which Sixth Street desperately needs: traditional tamales and Tejano music.
Pick up freshly prepared burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and tortas, as well as reasonably priced plate specials.
2025 Guadalupe (Dobie Mall, second floor), 512/480-8680
The offerings from Jae Kim’s brick and mortar "Home of the Kimchi Fries" should be as yummy as that of the popular trucks. The menu is slightly different, sporting Kimchi fried rice balls containing rice, cheddar, Monterey Jack, nori, and gochujang, but retains plenty of crowd favorites.
1509 S. Lamar, 512/428-5269
Korean barbecue offered in five kinds of protein, spicy noodle bowls, chicken wings glazed with sweet and spicy Gangnam sauce, and those addictive kimchi fries are some of the menu's highlights at this Downtown trailer.
