La Peña

227 Congress #300, 512/236-0610
Austin's longtime Latino arts umbrella has had a number of offices during the years, but no matter where it goes, something seems to keep pulling it back to the building at the corner of Congress & Third. So it is now, with the organization having recently relocated to the building after a brief spate in the former Rackley Hardware space a couple doors down the block. La Peña may not be able to keep the entire downstairs as a gallery space permanently, but it's set up that way for the time being, with a splendid showcase of monumental Aztec masks created by Sanchez Elementary fifth graders and assorted prints and paintings filling out the space.
