AARC: 2020 Visions

Welcome four new art and history shows to the Asian American Resource Center: "Courage to Be: The Saheli Story," in which archives from the Austin History Center reveal the origins of the Saheli support group for South Asian women in Austin; "Shen’s Precious Clocks and Watches," featuring scientist and photographer Peter Shen's collection of clocks and watches representing distinct moments in the advancement of measuring time; "A Ginkgo Walk," wherein Sneha Sundaram uses nature photography and haiku to create visual and literary sensations; and "Kingdom Arts," which is geared toward teen anime, manga and videogame fans. Through March 28.

Courage to Be: An Evening Celebrating Saheli

Celebrate the 28th anniversary of Saheli, the first organization in the South to serve Asian families impacted by domestic violence. Enjoy light refreshments, storytelling, and the archival exhibition "Courage to Be: The Saheli Story," which will be on display through April. Thu., Feb. 20, 6:30-8:30pm. Free, but RSVP.
