This hidden gem, tucked into a corner of a giant H-E-B Plus shopping center, serves authentic Thai food that is reliably fresh and fast. The dining room is clean and modernistic, and the staff is helpful, courteous, and attentive. The menu is more extensive than most, and includes a great many seafood and duck dishes, in addition to the more standard curries and stir-fries. The noodle dishes are where Thai Spoon really excels, and their Pad Se-Ew and Pad Thai are exemplary, featuring perfectly soft noodles, plentiful meat, and just the right amount of heat. There are also quite a few Thai salads, including papaya salad, Yum Nua, Yum Woon Sen, Thai peanut salad, Laab, cucumber salad, and Nam Sab. Thai Spoon enjoys a huge take-out business; even so, service in the dining room never skips a beat.
