Top 10 Texas Liquors

Top 10 Texas Liquors

Some of our best liquors, including a few listed below, are made elsewhere and bottled and/or blended in Texas. I care mostly about how good something tastes, but I also like to know the truth about how and where something is made. Turn the bottle around and look for the words "distilled by" on the back. If it says "blended" then it's probably made elsewhere. Then read the bottle's label. Virtually every Texas liquormaker that uses Texas ingredients says so on its bottle. If you only care about getting great-tasting liquor and enriching a Texan whilst doing so, be completely assured that every bottle listed below is worth trying. In alphabetical order, my top picks are:

1) BALCONES DISTILLING RUMBLE CASK RESERVE

2) DEEP EDDY RUBY RED VODKA

3) FIRESTONE & ROBERTSON DISTILLING CO. TX BLENDED WHISKEY

4) GARRISON BROTHERS TEXAS STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY

5) NORTH TEXAS DISTILLERS 1835

6) PAULA'S TEXAS LEMON

7) RAILEAN WHITE RUM

8) RANGER CREEK .36 TEXAS BOURBON WHISKEY

9) TITO'S HANDMADE VODKA

10) TREATY OAK DISTILLING CO. WATERLOO ANTIQUE BARREL RESERVE GIN
