› Help Austin's historic Driskill Hotel (Sixth & Brazos) celebrate 125 years in business with a tree illumination ceremony and live music in the lobby. Thursday, Dec. 1, 7pm.

› Michael Parker's annual Whisky Festival at Opal Divine's Penn Field (3601 S. Congress) is the best whiskey event of the year, according to our Wes Marshall. Sample more 50 whiskies from the British Isles complemented by a whiskey-friendly food buffet. Tickets are $40 in advance at; $45 at the door. Thursday, Dec. 1, 7pm.
