Slow Money Austin invites you to an open house and local food potluck at In.gredients (2510 Manor Rd.), Austin's first package-free, zero-waste grocery store. Bring your own plate, cup, and utensils. Friday, Nov. 11, 5:30-8pm.

Eleven Plates & Wine (3801 Capital of TX Hwy. N. Ste. C-200) hosts an 11/11/11 celebration weekend with $11 food and wine specials and a three-course prix fixe dinner for $111 per couple. See details at www.elevenplates.com.

› Teams of local interior designers and architects will create large sculptures with canned goods in the fourth annual Canstruction competition at Barton Creek Square, donating the canned goods to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas after the event. Saturday, Nov. 12, all day.

Green Gate Farms (8310 Canoga) hosts a benefit for the New Farm Institute with Split Rail Ales and Wander­lust Ice Cream & Sorbet. Enjoy local food samples, live music, games, and a raffle. $12 suggested donation. Saturday, Nov. 12, 4-11pm.

› Slow Food Austin hosts a tour of the Urban Patchwork Neighborhood Farms plots around Austin. $20 tickets include fresh produce and light refreshments and are available at www.slowfoodaustin.org. Sunday, Nov. 13, 1-3pm.

› Savory Spice Shop (1201-B W. Sixth) offers two food events. Ellen Sweets will sign copies of Stirring It Up With Molly Ivins: A Memoir With Recipes on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2-5pm. Chef Ruth Carter will present a class on preparing great Thanksgiving side dishes. $20; make reservations at austin6thstreet@savoryspiceshop.com. Monday, Nov. 14, 6:30pm.

› Vegetarian cooks from all over Texas will converge at Old Set­tlers Park (3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd.) for the 23rd annual Lone Star Vegetarian Chili Cook-Off, vying for cash prizes and trophies. Enjoy food and drinks, live music, vendor exhibits, and cooking demonstrations by vegan chef and author Christy Morgan. $8, adults; $4, kids ages 6-12; free, kids younger than 5. Sunday, Nov. 13, 11:30am-3:30pm.

› Some of Austin's finest chefs will join Rene Ortiz at La Condesa (400 W. Second) in preparing a multicourse Autumn Harvest tasting dinner to benefit the Sustainable Food Center. $125 tickets are available at lacondesa.ticketbud.com/sfcchefsseries. Sunday, Nov. 13, 5:30-10:30pm.

› Bread & Circus Supper Club offers the Family Style Charlie Brown Holiday Feast at the Palm Door (401 Sabine). $40 for dinner; $60 for dinner with wine. Cash bar.
