› Attend the grand opening of the Soular Food Garden (1110 E. 12th) – a new shaded grove in East Austin with game courts, a stage, and a food court anchored by trailers from Hoover's Cooking (veggie-centric Southern comfort food) and El Naranjo (street food from Oaxaca, Mexico). › The Taste of Southpark Meadows features food samples from more than a dozen of the shopping center's restaurants, live music from Corrina's Dreamland Band, and the chance to purchase pink flamingo yard ornaments, all to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Each $5 wristband is worth 12 tastes. Saturday, Oct. 29, 5-7pm.

› The annual Green Corn Project's Cook Globally, Grow Locally fundraiser is a sip-and-stroll tasting party on the grounds of historic Boggy Creek Farm (3414 Lyons) with food and drinks from some of Austin's finest restaurants. Tickets are $35 in advance at the weekly farm stand or via www.greencornproject.org, and $40 at the gate. Sunday, Oct. 30, noon-3pm.
