• The family-friendly Art City Austin takes place this weekend with an Art City Bistro and Cafe. Look for food and drinks from Amy's Ice Creams, County Fair Lemonade, Crepe Crazy, Fired Up Kitchen, Snowie Shaved Ice, Tiff's Treats, the Best Wurst, the Zubik House, Torchy's Tacos, and Zhi Tea. The festival takes place along Cesar Chavez from Shoal Creek to Lavaca, with the bistro at the First Street Bridge and the cafe at Shoal Creek, Saturday-Sunday, April 2-3.

• More than 70 home bakers and many local bakeries will contribute to the Austin Bakes for Japan bake sale. Locations: Woof Gang Bakery (1204 N. Lamar), Foreign & Domestic (306 E. 53rd), Hotel San José (1316 S. Congress), and Nomad (1213 Corona) will sell baked goods from 10am to 2pm, and the Shops at Mira Vista (2785 Bee Cave Rd.) will sell from 10am to 5pm. Sales are by donation only, and proceeds will go to the nonprofit AmeriCares. Saturday, April 2.

Go Texan Twitter Tuesdays fans can chat with Jim Johnson of Alamosa Wine Cellars. Pick up his 2007 Scissortail, 2005 El Guapo, or 2008 Texacaia, and be prepared to taste and tweet at www.tweetchat.com/room/GoTexan. Tuesday, April 5, 7pm.

• The new season of Tipsy Tech mixology instruction begins this week at Twin Liquors Marketplace in the Hancock Center. Classes are held on Saturdays and selected Wednesdays through May. Register online at www.tipsytech.net.
