• The Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce celebrates the Year of the Rabbit with its annual Lunar New Year Gala at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (1800 Congress). Festivities will include awards for local entrepreneurs, live and silent auctions of art show items, music, food from an array of Austin's Asian restaurants, and a cash bar. Make necessary reservations at Saturday, Feb. 5, 5:30-9:30pm.

• If you prefer fine dining during the Super Bowl, consider the Super Bowl Special at both Eddie V's (301 E. Fifth, 472-1860; 9400-B Arboretum Blvd., 342-2642) and Roaring Fork (701 Congress, 583-0000; 10850 Stonelake, 342-2700): Buy one entrée and the second of equal or lesser value will be free. Sunday, Feb. 6, 4:30pm-close.

• Due to popular demand, Jax Neighborhood Cafe (2828 Rio Grande, 382-1570, has extended its Wednesday night deal – a free slice of pizza with any beer or wine purchase – through the month of Febru­ary. Wednesdays, 8pm-close.

• Soraiya Nagree, owner of La Pâtisserie by Luxe Sweets (602 W. Annie, 912-0033, will present a class on preparing classic French pastry treats at the Whole Foods Culinary Center (525 N. Lamar). $65 per person; make necessary reservations at Thursday, Feb. 10, 6:30-9pm.
