• The owners of Boomerang's Gourmet Veggie & Meat Pies (3110 Guadalupe, 380-0032, www.boomerangspies.com) celebrate the company's anniversary on or around Australia Day every year. This year, the party includes food and drink specials, live entertainment, a silent auction, and the second Fastest to Eat a Pie contest. A percentage of frozen pie sales from this week will be donated to Meals on Wheels and More. Saturday, Jan. 30, noon-8pm.
