Ciola's Italian-American Restaurant (1310 RR 620 S., 263-9936, www.ciolas.com) chef Louis Ciola presents a multicourse pork feast with delectable dishes from all areas of the pig, complemented with wine pairings. $55 per person or $80 with wine. Reservations necessary. Thursday, April 2, 7pm.

Central Market (4001 N. Lamar, 206-1000, www.centralmarket.com) hosts its annual Herb Fest – food samples, demonstrations, and cooking tips throughout the store. Friday-Sunday, April 3-5.

Hosteria Verde Supper Club (632-8400, www.hosteriaverde.com) presents an evening of classic French cuisine at Wally Workman Gallery (1202 W. Sixth, 472-7428, www.wallyworkmangallery.com), with an appearance by artist Fatima Ronquillo. $55 per person, BYOB. Reservations necessary. Friday, April 3, 7pm.

Austin Lyric Opera (www.austinlyricopera.org) hosts its Beer-Wine Smackdown at Ducloux Hall (901 Barton Springs Rd.). ALO General Director Kevin Patter­son, a passionate amateur microbrewer, and Austin attorney Kevin Leahy, a wine enthusiast, will choose beer and wine pairings to complement signature dishes from four Austin restaurants. A celebrity panel decides which microbrewed beer or wine makes the best pairing. Call 472-5992 for tickets ($35). Saturday, April 4, 5-7pm.

Stone House Vineyard (24350 Haynie Flat Rd., Spicewood, 512/264-3630, www.stonehousevineyard.com) will be busy this weekend. On Saturday, noon-2pm, author Terry Thompson-Anderson signs copies of her cookbook Texas on the Plate, and Sunday, the Yoga in the Vineyard class is followed by a Champagne brunch ($35, call for reservations). Sunday, April 5, 10am.

• The Jewish Community Association of Austin (www.shalomaustin.org) hosts its annual Passover in the Hood at Central Market (4001 N. Lamar, www.centralmarket.com): traditional Passover songs, arts & crafts, free and open to the public. Sunday, April 5, 2-4pm.

• Enjoy a Tito's Vodka Dinner at the original Z'Tejas Grill (1110 W. Sixth, 478-5355, www.ztejas.com). Chefs Jack Gil­more and Santos Garcia-Hernandez have created a five-course South­west­ern menu, and Tipsy Texan mixologist David Alan has designed a custom cocktail menu featuring the locally distilled spirit to complement the dishes. Tito Beveridge will be the special guest. $60 per person, reservations necessary. Tuesday, April 7, 7pm.

Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar presents another in its series of Iron Chef Cinema Battles with Executive Chef John Bullington throwing down against Olivia restaurant chef/owner James Holmes. The film is Chandni Chowk to China, a wild Bollywood/kung fu fusion comedy with a strong foodie component. Buy $75 tickets at www.originalalamo.com. Wednesday, April 8, 7pm.
