Gardeners and farmers are invited to take a free Methods Tour of Boggy Creek Farm (3414 Lyons Rd., 926-4650, www.boggycreekfarm.com). Farmer Carol Ann Sayle will discuss topics such as bed preparation, sowing and transplanting, composting, seasonal crop selection, harvesting techniques, raising chickens, drip irrigation, and water wells. No refreshments; wear shoes and clothes appropriate for walking around the farm. Friday, Feb. 6, 10am-noon.

The Texas Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association hosts its annual conference on organic production – From the Ground Up at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center (3601 S. W.S. Young Dr., 254/501-3888). The event will include farm tours; a trade show; roundtable discussions; workshops on topics ranging from marketing to rainwater collection and the production of artisanal cheeses, pecans, and cut flowers; plus the most current information of organic growing and sustainable agriculture. Guest speakers will include Joel Salatin of Polyface Inc., as well as farmers, ranchers, marketing experts, and chefs who are making a difference in the local food revolution.
