Thai Cooking with Jam

Nithiwadee "Jam" Sanitchat arrived from Thailand in 2001 with a head full of authentic traditional Thai dishes she learned by the side of her mother and grandmother. Her earliest memories are of being in the kitchen, helping them produce culinary magic. Much of Austin first met Jam as a head waitress at Madam Mam's on Guadalupe, where she began to learn the restaurant production side of authentic Thai cooking from the inimitable Mam. In April 2004, she branched out on her own to begin teaching others to cook Thai food and then, in October of that same year, began to sell her own frozen product line at the Sunset Valley Farmers Market.

Now Jam has a full-time business. She sells her product line of prepared Thai dishes at the Austin Farmers' Market (Saturday, Downtown; Wednesday, the Triangle). More importantly, she can come to your home to cook, cater, or deliver a fully cooked custom meal or teach you and your group how to cook Thai cuisine. Choose from 40 Thai dishes listed on her website (unless you have a special request of your own), and then decide if you want to be pampered or if you want to get hands-on teaching (sessions usually involve groups of three to 10 people).

You probably can't afford to take your group of pals to Bangkok for the holidays, but you can afford to have a charming Thai chef come to your house to prepare authentic and scrumptious Thai cuisine for your friends!
