June 15-21

Harvest of a bountiful tomato crop has begun at Boggy Creek Farm (3414 Lyons Rd., 926-4650), and they'll celebrate with a Tomato Festival this weekend. Irish musician Jeff Moore will provide authentic Celtic music (9-10am), while folks shop for summer bounty, tour the farm, and visit with the famous denizens of the henhouse. Saturday, June 16, 9am-2pm.

Since Dad may prefer to sleep in or play golf on his special day this weekend, the folks at Patsy's Cowgirl Cafe (5001 E. Ben White, 444-2020) suggest you treat him to dinner on Saturday night. Chef Ric Gonzales has designed a special menu for the evening that pairs well with Chimay Red beer (dads gets a free beer glass to take home), and the Texas Swing Kings will be playing from 8 to 10pm with no cover. Make reservations now! Dinner: Saturday, June 16, 6-10pm.

The folks at Blue Star Cafeteria (4800 Burnet Rd., 454-7827) suggest you treat Dad to steak and eggs or homemade meatloaf at their delicious Sunday brunch. Sign him up for the beer tasting they've got coming up later in the month while you're there. Sunday, June 17, 10am-3pm.

Let Dad know he's your hero: Take him to see that great American hero Rocky Balboa when the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown serves up Rocky paired with a Philly feast good enough to make anyone reach for the sky. Make reservations online at www.originalalamo.com. Sunday, June 17, 7pm.
