Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Central Market North (4001 N. Lamar, 206-1000) where they will present great food, live music, and folk dancing to showcase aspects of Latino culture. Activities begin with a cooking class ($20, reservations required, 458-3068) taught by Málaga chef Alejandro Duran, continue with a presentation by the Puerto Rico Folkloric Dance Company and end with music by Beto & los Fairlanes; Saturday, May 5, 4-10pm.

Green Gate Farms (8310 Canoga) hosts a Slow Foods Feast to benefit the Austin Discovery School (www.austindiscoveryschool.org). The Slow Foods Convivium of Austin and the Texas Culinary Academy are also sponsors of the event, which will feature live musical entertainment, a happy hour at the historic Bergstrom farm house, and a five-course feast prepared by TCA chefs with foods donated by several local farms, restaurants, and artisans; $100 tickets available online; Saturday, May 5, 7-10pm.

The Belmont (306 W. Sixth, 457-0300), just named one of the Top 25 Nightspots in the World by Condé Nast Traveler, invites you to join them for Unwine Wednesdays. This month, they will feature Merlot (May 9), Shiraz (May 16), Zinfandel (May 23), and Cabernet (May 30). A one-time, $25 membership fee entitles you to a personalized wine glass, tastings, and appetizers designed to match the featured wines; Wednesdays, 6-8pm.

The Sustainable Food Center (236-0074) has moved its Wednesday Austin Farmers' Market (www.austinfarmersmarket.org) to the Triangle Park between Lamar and Guadalupe at 46th. The market will be open from 4 to 8pm every Wednesday.
