The Central Market Cooking School (4001 N. Lamar, 458-3068) hosts the second week of Kelly Ann Hargrove's popular Austin Music on the Menu series, which features a lineup of talented local musicians demonstrating their chops in the kitchen. Prices vary, and reservations are necessary.

The Farmers' Market Downtown (www.austinfarmersmarket.org) moves back to its regular home just south of Republic Square Park at Fourth & Guadalupe this weekend. Shop for area organic produce and flowers and natural meats and cheeses, as well as local artisan food products; Saturday, March 10, 10am-1pm.

Carol Ann Sayle, India Rassner-Donovan, and venerable head hen Aunt Penny invite you to bring your lawn chair and your questions to their second Chicken Seminar. Learn all about the wonderful association with a backyard flock of chickens at Boggy Creek Farm (3414 Lyons, 926-4650), Sunday, March 11, 10am-noon.

Mary Thompson, director of the Brew School at North by Northwest Restaurant and Brewery (10010 Capital of TX Hwy. N., 467-6969), will present a class highlighting the very harmonious pairings of various beers and cheeses; $35 per person, reservations suggested; Monday, March 12, 7pm.

The Belmont (305 W. Sixth, 457-0300) launches Unwine Wednesdays, a series that will explore a variety of wines and cocktails. Pay a one-time $25 membership fee, and receive a personalized wine glass and a complimentary glass of the drink featured on the night of membership sign-up. Every subsequent week, enjoy the featured drink at a discounted price plus a complimentary special appetizer designed to pair with that drink selection in the Belmont's Dakota Lounge; Wednesday, March 14 (weekly), 6-8pm.
