Kate Heyhoe, cookbook author and executive editor of Global Gourmet (www.globalgourmet.com), will teach a class on recipe writing and development at the Whole Foods Culinary Center (Fifth & Bowie, 542-2340). The traveling California culinary gypsy caravan known as Outstanding in the Field returns to Austin this weekend on the 2006 North American Farm Tour. The group will present a dinner prepared by Lake Austin Spa & Resort chef Terry Conlan at Boggy Creek Farm (3414 Lyons, 926-4650). Dishes in the five-course meal will feature meats, cheeses, and fresh produce from area ranchers, organic farmers, and artisan food producers, complemented by a selection of Texas wines.
