Issues in J Dorm

RECEIVED Thu., Jan. 14, 2021

Dear Editor,
Hi, I would like to submit a letter or a statement of the treatment we the ladies in J dorm at the Austin transitional center are being treated very poorly. We have been on quarantine for about a month now and there has been time we do not receive toilet paper and have to use sanitary napkins. We get fed the same thing everyday. We have gotten extended for really no reason and to be honest no one hasn't even tested positive for the COVID virus. If one person gets in trouble or messes up we all have to deal with the consequences. Some of us women have jobs and haven't been able to go back to work and therefore have lost jobs. I along with several other girls have been approved to go home on a home plan but we are stuck here for no reason and are being kept from are families and loved one. We want some type of action to happen so we can get out of this dorm we have been confined to for about a month. We can not leave anywhere and if we do they (the facility) takes hours to pick us up and we can't catch a bus or take an Uber ride because then it'll cause for a week more of being in quarantine. Is there any way that maybe we can get help from the outside to help us out in our situation? We just want to know if what they're doing to is is right and legal and what can we do to get this quarantine lifted so we can go back to work and go back home.
