Axis Error

RECEIVED Fri., Nov. 6, 2020

Dear Editor,
In the October 16 edition of “Mr. Smarty Pants Knows," there appears: “It takes 23 hours and 56 minutes for Earth to make a complete rotation around the sun.”
The Earth revolves around the Sun; it rotates around its axis.

Writer R.U. Steinberg says: Spinning inaccuracies: The October 16, 2020 edition of Mr. Smarty Pants Knows said the Earth rotates around the sun in 23 hours and 56 minutes, which was in error. But it does take the Earth 23 hours and 56 minutes to complete one rotation on its axis.
