I just wanted to congratulate Governor Abbott on his choice of locations for his Homeless Camp or, as we in Montopolis are calling it, "Abbottville" ["Questions Abound as New Campground, Shelter Plans Announced
," Daily News, Nov. 7]. He has decided to place the poor, the mentally ill, the drug addicted in one of the highest-crime, easiest to buy street drugs neighborhoods in the city of Austin.
I know because I have lived in Montopolis since 1993. I guess this is his entrepreneurial way of placing the customers closest to the source?
Way to go, governor!! Now they won't have to get on the bus and go Downtown to buy or sell drugs, buy or sell stolen property. How efficient!
I've lived in that same neighborhood since 1993. I, along with my neighbors, worked so very hard to try and get rid of drug users and drug dealers. Now you, in whatever funk led you to that decision, will crap all over our hard work of the last two decades!
I'm starting to wonder if that tree limb that left you in a wheelchair may have first landed on your head?
