Crime Against Humanity

RECEIVED Fri., June 8, 2018

Dear Editor,
The Trump/Sessions ukaz to separate refugee children from their parents is in essence a crime against humanity. How can anyone justify such a cruelty? [“Suffer the Little Children,” News, June 8.] There is nothing worse than depriving a child from a parent. The Congress is silent except for [a] few whimpers. As a 92-year[-old] immigrant Nazi survivor, I fear that our government aims to copy Gestapo tactics. I am distraught and angry but again helpless to face the evil of our leaders.
How would the first lady, also an immigrant, feel if her son was taken away from her, or if Jeff Sessions were to be separated from his grandchildren with no idea of when he’d see them again? How can the ”leader of the world” be so cruel? One would expect from our president more humanity, charity, and decency, but maybe it is too much to ask.
