Illegal for a Reason

RECEIVED Wed., March 1, 2017

Dear Editor,
I would like to express my opinion on Montinique Monroe's article “Texas Vets Push for Marijuana Reform” [News, Feb. 23]. I realize that the vets go through a lot of pain on a daily basis and take lots of medicine for it but I do not think that they should be allowed to use marijuana at all. Marijuana is illegal for a reason and if we allow them to use it, it will make it an easier possibility to be used recreationally by the public. If however they do decide to legalize it, it should be heavily taxed and require a specific license to purchase to prevent it from being purchased by people other than vets.
