Big Differences Between National Parks And Forests

RECEIVED Sun., Aug. 26, 2012

Dear Editor,
Just read the article “Day Trips: Happy birthday National Park Service!” [Aug. 24]. As a point of reference, national forests are under the Department of Agriculture, while national parks fall within the Department of the Interior. Big difference! How big? Like the difference between going to a professional football game, with assigned seating and monitoring by security guards, and attending a high school football game where you can sit anywhere and roam freely.
