Sick and Tired of Being Used as a Football

RECEIVED Mon., March 19, 2012

Dear Editor,
I am sick and tired of my body being used as a religious and political football.
So, you want to provide zero sex education in schools, limit birth control, eliminate Planned Parenthood, eradicate abortions, enforce an invasive and unnecessary ultrasound before performing an abortion … here's to you guys that support this stuff.
It's called the Men's Reproductive Health Bill.
    1) Religious freedom is at stake! If God had wanted men to help create babies until the day they died, then erectile dysfunction and low-testosterone would not ever have become problems. God did not intend for men to reproduce all their lives, obviously. Therefore, on grounds of religious liberty, insurance should not cover these treatments, nor should any federal or state funds be used.
    2) Men's health: Prior to receiving prescriptions for either E.D. or low T, all men should have a stress test and thorough physical workup (are they really healthy enough for sex?) and a complete hormone panel workup; watch a detailed and graphic movie of the side effects of these drugs; be run through a battery of psychological testing (after all, sometimes it is in their heads!); have an exercise and diet program mandated for at least six months before prescription; and receive information about pursuing celibacy as a viable lifestyle choice.
    3) A panel of only Democratic female lawmakers will be allowed to speak and decide on this matter. I nominate Senators Nina Turner (Ohio), Janet Howell (Virginia) and Stacey Newman (Missouri) for starters.
    4) Any man on E.D. or low-T drugs who causes an unwanted pregnancy immediately contributes (or has wages garnished to contribute) $500,000 per child in money/assets to raise that unwanted child through four years of college. The state/feds immediately take the funds and place in an account to be paid monthly for the care of the child.
Every pregnancy should be well-funded by the man. And if we are going to limit birth control, accurate sex education, abortion, the morning after pill, and Planned Parenthood and fuel the fires with Viagra, Cialis, and testosterone treatments, our unwanted pregnancy rates are going to sky rocket! And the last time I checked: It takes two to tango.
