Dear Editor,
I am very unhappy with Jim Caligiuri's review of Jack Ingram's
Big Dreams & High Hopes [“
Texas Platters,” Music, Sept. 18]. The CD is great, and I do not care how many producers are on it. Jim totally tried to imply that Jack needed help from other singers and producers;
not true! The guest singers were for “Barbie Doll” and Patty Griffin for “Seeing Stars,” and this only was an added touch, which worked very well by the way. Jim must have a personal conflict with Jack Ingram or maybe Jim is just jealous! One thing that is for sure is that Jim wrote a very bad review, a very undeserving review, and does not know what the hell he is talking about. He pretty much put this CD at the lowest level he could.
Why? It is a great CD; Jack fans everywhere love it. Jack Ingram is a talented artist, and guess what – Jim is not a talented writer. Have Jim go back to throwing the daily paper, because he does not need to write music reviews anymore. Thank you. Also, I read Jim's review of Jack's
Electric in 2002 [“
Phases & Stages,” Music, June 7, 2002]. Jim had all good things to say?
