Objects to KUT-FM's Changes

RECEIVED Thu., Aug. 6, 2009

Dear Editor,
I object to KUT's management making changes to KUT's programming without consulting the people who pay for it, the listeners [“Media Watch: Unwinding the Twine at KUT,” News, July 7]. I miss Paul Ray's Jazz and Larry Monroe's Phil Music Program and want them back. Cutting them for lack of ratings is what a for-profit commercial radio station would do. I don't pay money directly to such a station, and they can do what they want. But I have paid money directly to KUT for many, many years, and I feel like KUT's management doesn't even care. You can be sure I won't pledge again unless they bring Paul Ray and Larry Monroe back.
