If Marc Ott really wants to desegregate Austin, he will have to reject the current core principle of his industry, which asserts that developer prosperity equals societal prosperity when the opposite is true. At least he will be able to see firsthand the mythical tax base gentrification brings, when he deals with the multimillion-dollar budget deficit.
