Where Are the Write-In Votes for Ron Paul?

RECEIVED Wed., Nov. 12, 2008

Dear Editor,
Where are the write-in votes for Ron Paul?
I found it quite odd how votes for president in the Nov. 7 issue [“Nov. 4 Election Results,” News] had candidates for president in Travis Co. listed as receiving votes. As little as one vote, for example, Thaddaus Hill, was enough to be listed.
I am sure Ron Paul received more than one write-in? Just checking.

[News Editor Michael King responds: Under Texas law, only those write-in candidates who have filed as such with the Secretary of State's Office are eligible to have their votes counted. Ron Paul did not file as a write-in candidate and in fact endorsed the Constitutional Party's Chuck Baldwin, who at press time Nov. 5 had recorded 23 votes in Travis Co. The final vote totals may have changed slightly since that date, but Paul will not be among them.]
