Montopolis Is Gastationopolis

RECEIVED Thu., July 24, 2008

Dear Editor,
I live in the Montopolis neighborhood, but I think we should change the name to Gastationopolis. We are spoiled for choice when it comes to places to pump equally expensive gas. There are three on the corner of Montopolis and Riverside Drive, and guess what they are building a few hundred feet away at Coriander and Riverside Drive. Oh yes, a gas station. Hooray. Four gas stations are more than enough. Actually five, if you count the one right there on Highway 71 and Riverside.
We really don't have much in the way of retail and services in the Montopolis neighborhood, and the last thing we need is another place to buy lottery tickets. The Riverside corridor is supposedly the "gateway to the city" for people coming from the airport. Some attractive gateway. Well, if your definition of "attractive" is "can't swing a dead cat without hitting a gas station."
