Dare to Believe

RECEIVED Sun., Feb. 25, 2007

Dear Editor,
Hope, not war, not threats, and defiantly not terror: That’s Sen. Barack Obama’s appeal. Maybe lack of Washington connections might be a good thing. Maybe bringing a naive, hopeful, and most of all truthful president would heal our nation. Obama dares us to hope he is not trying to sell fear. I think we are all full enough of fear. Twenty-thousand people in the park to wish a presidential candidate – a Democratic candidate – well. Is it a new day or what? Do not buy into the claim that congressmen and senators are weak presidents. Just think about this short list: Lincoln, JFK, and Truman. Need I say more; dare you to believe we might just regain our national identity?
