Dear Chronicle, As a misfit of photography I want to thank Robert Faires and the Chronicle for running the article on Sean Perry and his approach to unusually angled photography [“Let Me Show You Something You May Have Missed,” Arts, Sept. 22]. For years I have been shooting from odd angles and catching flak. It is so refreshing to see someone on a professional level doing the same. I encourage those I instruct to just take a basic point-and-shoot camera, load it with black-and-white film, and go outside their boxes and don't be afraid to shoot from weird angles. So you shoot only the very top of a church or lay on the ground and get stepped on in the process while shooting – that is half the fun. Thank you, Sean Perry for going outside of your box.
