Still Returns to Nov. 18 Issue

RECEIVED Thu., March 23, 2006

Dear Editor,
It has been weeks and I still go back to your issue of euthanized cats on the cover ["What Happened to the No-Kill Millenium?" Nov. 18, 2005]. I am still very proud of you for having the courage to print such pictures and the real story.
People who are angry about the pictures are in denial. They are probably the very ones who write to every rescue group in town, "I'm having a baby so I must get rid of my cat/dog," "I'm moving and they don't allow pets where I'm going," "I'm suddenly allergic to my cat of 10 years." Humans are responsible for domesticating these animals. We are responsible for taking care of them.
I echo all the good comments you have already received. I can't say it any better. For those that say they turn their heads and ignore the situation, wake up, stop being the problem, and help solve the problem!
As I watch over an abandoned cat and her 10-day-old kittens,
Karin Sanchez
