Suffering Black Hole of Consciousness

RECEIVED Mon., Nov. 14, 2005

Dear Editor,
I have never written a letter to the editor, but I feel I must share my horror at what we here in Austin think is the "best" way to be governed [“Victory for God – or Bigotry?,” News, Nov. 11]. Once again, open-minded good will and common sense have taken a backseat to bigotry and greed. Living in Austin I sometimes forget that we actually live in Texas! Austin feels nothing like the rest of Texas actually ... it's an oasis all to itself. Until election day that is and once again I am reminded that we do indeed live in a Republican stronghold, and a city of well-educated, open-minded individuals can only do so much in the vast emptiness of thought and willpower that is the rest of this state. I feel sorry for everyone that voted no to the worst of the amendments ... which was all of them ... now we have to suffer in the black hole of consciousness that the rest of the idiots have created. Good job!
