Thanks to Michael Ventura for writing about the grim future of petroleum and its inevitably adverse affect on all of us – especially here in the gas-guzzling United States [“Letters @ 3am,” Oct. 14]. It's a shame that our government and the people who elect them (whoever that is) have done so little to address what is fast becoming a nearly insurmountable problem around the world.
