What a superb introduction to Walt Whitman [“Letters @ 3am,” July 22]! Way to go Michael Ventura. You have enlightened so many people to this master, just by your two pages in the Chronicle. We will be hording down to the libraries and bookstores to check out Leaves of Grass. And looking all around us and under our shoe-soles for this magical awareness, waiting for each and every one of us just right up through our toesies!
