Mount Bonnell Monstrosity

RECEIVED Mon., July 18, 2005

Dear Editor,
I was a longtime resident of Austin and moved away three years ago. On a recent visit to Mount Bonnell, I was horrified to see that someone had built a monstrosity of a house (?) on the south end where everyone used to gather. How was this travesty against nature, history, and humanity permitted? Was there a public outcry? (I admit, I wasn't there.) Was this an example of the "eminent domain" in action. Now my kids will never see it the way nature/God/Mr. Covert intended it to be: as unspoiled as possible. What's next?
