Dear Editor, The Radical Right seems to know no bounds and feel no sense of shame in their latest strategy to do away with the filibuster (using their "nuclear option") and thereby defeating our in-built system of checks and balances. Here's a chance to pack the courts with judges who will turn back the progress we've made on the environment, labor rights, and privacy rights to pay back corporate backers. The lure of absolute power and winning at all costs seems to have blinded them to the fact that government's purpose is to serve the people. It feels like "To hell with the people! We have a chance to get what we want!" What a sorry state!
