Chicken Hawk Little

RECEIVED Thu., Feb. 3, 2005

Dear Editor,
"The Iraqi's are attacking, the Iraqi's are attacking," yelled Chicken Hawk Little.
But the Iraqi's didn't have WMD or nukes and weren't a threat to the U.S., and Little's friends rolled their eyes.
"We won! We won!" Chicken Hawk Little yelled after the U.S. defeated Saddam, a two-bit dictator from a Third World country.
But the war wasn't really over and more U.S. troops died due to bad planning and mixed motives, and Little's friends scowled.
"Saddam is captured, the insurgency is over!" Chicken Hawk Little crowed.
But the insurgency gained strength and even took a more hideous turn as civilians and troops were targeted. Little's friends frowned.
"The election is a success! We were right all along!" Chicken Hawk Little preened.
But Little's friends ignored the whiney conservative, for they remembered from Vietnam, Pakistan, and other elections that only time would tell and he had been so wrong on all previous accounts.
Moral: The war was wrong no matter what event happens over there (good or bad). Conservatives, no matter how desperate for some positive results, shouldn't tell us the sky is falling before they check for rain.
