Bush's Failed Policies Now

RECEIVED Wed., Sept. 22, 2004

To the editor,
Why is the media wasting the public's time discussing George Bush's dubious record from 30 years ago, when his present day record is atrocious? George Bush has turned a $5.6 trillion surplus into a $2.8 trillion deficit. The war in Iraq has no end in sight and has already cost us $120 million. Halliburton and Cheney are getting richer while our young men and women don't have the proper armor to protect them as they fight a war of choice that was based on faulty intelligence. The death toll continues to rise, and Bush has the gall to continue to shamelessly connect this war to 9/11 with falsehoods. There is no connection! George Bush, where is Osama and why have we let al Qaeda infiltrate Iraq? Until today no one had reported that al Qaeda forces were causing havoc in Iraq? We are not only not safer today than we were four years ago, we are headed toward bankruptcy. Bush's irresponsible and reckless leadership has put our country's future at risk. And in a second Bush term, it would be even worse.
This November, we have a choice between four years of failed policies or a new direction for our country. I'm choosing John Kerry. I pray that help is on the way.
