Drop the Charges

RECEIVED Fri., March 26, 2004

Dear Editor,
How infuriating it is when a police department overreacts and then uses the "blue wall" to cover up its misdeeds ["Not Quite 'Ya Se Fue!,'" News, March 26]. Ozomatli, a band all about peace and understanding, was forced to endure this horrific demonstration of civil rights infringement, which should be, in the true and best sense of the word, un-American. The charges against the three individuals should be dropped ASAP, and an apology from the police department and city should also be forthcoming.
