IT'S NAKIA'S WORLD ... and we just groove in it. Nakia belongs to that sexy genus: Ursus Austinus. Our big brawny Texas bear boasts a soulful snarl this side of David Clayton Thomas meets Sir Elton in the Castro, and we think he's ready to break out onto the national scene. Sometimes Nakia gets soooo wrapped up in the music, wailin' and a-flailin', that he falls right over. Somebody throw a cape on that man! Check the soul-bro's website for all of his South by Southwest appearances. Today, he is all over the place: Front Gate Tickets Party, 10am, 1711 S. Congress; RajiWorld + 1 Party, 4:30pm, Jovita's, 1617 S. First; and his official SX showcase at B.D. Riley's, 9pm. www.nakia.net.

GIRL IN A COMA Be still our Latina-loving hearts, and God bless our horny little feet as we follow Girl in a Coma around the capital city and today's D'Addario Day Party, 3:30pm. Rusty Spurs, 405 E. Seventh, 482-9002. www.therustyspurs.com.

SISSYBOY Today is the last SXSW screening of Katie Turinski's doc about the agony and the ecstasy of life in a renegade Portland, Ore., drag troupe. (See "SXSW Film," p.44.) 2pm, Alamo Drafthouse South, 1120 S. Lamar, 707-8262. SXSW Film badge, pass, or $10 tix (available 15 minutes prior). www.myspace.com/sissyboypdx.

IT AIN'T A MIDLIFE CRISIS, SO I MUST BE A SATURN RETURN Hip-hop hot stud Shunda K has seen her share of drama. Her Yo! Majesty bandmate was arrested. She had to perform part of the U.S. tour herself. She split with her wife. She left Yo! Majesty. She recorded what is sure to be an underground hit with Peaches called "Buck You Like a Billionaire." Highs and lows are no stranger to Ms. K, but things are looking up. In February, Shunda K released her new work, Le Passion, Yo!, a collaboration with Kotchy as a free digital-only EP. You can hook up with Shunda K along with DJ Orion and Josh Bloom. 8pm. Creekside Lounge, 606 E. Seventh, 480-5988. www.thecreeksidelounge.com.

YOUR FRIDAY CHO MO The darling Margaret Cho has been doing comedy since she was 16, before she was 20 she had opened for Jerry Seinfeld. In her early 20s, she was already the cream of the college circuit. Now amidst TV shows, burlesque, music, and Broadway, she is still rockin' it old school. Of all the toes in all the different ponds Ms. Cho frequents, the original is still the best. Her comedy is brash, buxom, and beautiful. She'll be yukking it up in two comedy sets: 8pm at the Velveeta Room and 9:05pm at Esther's Follies.

SHOW ME WHUT??? Holy crap, it's the official Show Me Tiger! Dance Party. And it is free. For all ages. And happens today. Food. Beer. Dancing. Punk Rock Pictionary (say whaaaaaa?), and sassy sexy tigers. There is a fabulous lineup of 99,000 bands, and we are most excited about SMT! (who, despite their Gay Place pedigree – conflict of interest alert! – we have never seen) and Jasper James, whom we have. Can I get a Ooooh OOOh and an OH?! Noon-8pm, Khabele School, 801 Rio Grande. www.myspace.com/showmetiger.
