CAMP RED BIRD The Austin Center for Grief & Loss is hosting a pair of summer camps for children who have recently experienced loss. Led by a licensed therapist and overseen by grief professionals, campers can expect a week full of fun games, crafts, and activities, all in a safe, supportive environment. Ages 6-12. CAMP TIME AT THE CARVER The Carver Museum offers classes that will unlock the artist in any child. The Broadway Bound camp will turn your child into a musical star in just seven weeks. Students will learn music, voice, and dance skills and put on a full-length musical at the end of summer. CITY OF AUSTIN'S SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM This Austin Parks & Rec program staffs parks all over town with camp counselors eager to play all day – all you have to do is drop in. They've got board games, arts & crafts, nature activities, sports, water games, cookouts, and even field trips on some days. See their website for the park nearest you. Ages 6-12. COUNTRY HOME LEARNING CENTER Country Home Learning Center offers themed camp activities such as Wacky and Wild Science, So You Want to Be a Star, Medieval Times, and “Rainforest Adventures. Earth Native Wilderness School EARTH NATIVE WILDERNESS SCHOOL Kids can turn off the TV and have some old-school fun at Earth Native Wilderness School, where they'll learn all about the natural world of Central Texas through exploration and games. Expert naturalist instructors teach lasting skills and how to make the most of the outdoors. Older kids get into some survival techniques at the overnight camp in Bastrop. Ages 3-16. ESTEAM LEARNING LABS Learning Fun 101 & 4Reelz School of Film have joined forces to create an all-encompassing summer camp program for your kids. ESTEAM Learning Labs focuses on entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, the arts, math, music, movement, and more. South Austin TaeKwonDo SOUTH AUSTIN TAEKWONDO Kids play games and learn weapons training, self-defense, and martial arts, along with self-discipline and focus. Fees include martial arts lessons, snacks, and bottled water, but students should pack a lunch. Squad STX Boys Camping SQUAD STX BOYS CAMPING Run by former U.S. Army infantry officers, Squad STX is a boys-only five-day, four-night camping and leadership program, which is a unique combination of summer camp and scouting. Kids learn leadership basics with a focus on backpacking, orienteering, and team competitions using situational training exercises (STX). Boys ages 10-16. June 10-July 12. $449-1299. SUMMER GAMES TRAINING CAMP Be like an Olympian by playing games, learning different customs and cultures, and tasting foods. Summer Wonders SUMMER WONDERS Summer Wonders is a full- or half-day program for students entering pre-K-8th grade. Each student participates in personally selected interactive classes with hands-on activities and explorational, inquiry-based learning. GROUNDWORK MUSIC PROJECT SUMMER CONCERT PROGRAM Campers will experience the joy of performing onstage with this program for learning, recording, and performance.
