    BookWoman's 47th Anniversary

    A literary hurrah for the 47th anniversary of this local woman-owned and queer-friendly bookstore. Celebrate with three local author readings from Dalia Azim (Country of Origin), Carrie Fountain (The Poem Forest), and Naomi Shihab Nye (The Turtle of Michigan) – plus a raffle with prize gift certificates.

      The Shabooming

      Museum of Human Achievement, Terror Pigeon, and Shaboom (Silky Shoemaker, Lex Vaughn, and Paul Soileau) present an adaptation of the novel by Stephen Drag King: The Shabooming. This Yuletide horror features Khattie Q, Angelica Mcauley, Matt Hislope, Adrienne Sneed, Y2K, Thor Harris, Beth Schindler, and Thomas Graves, plus magic by Andie Flores, Jay Roff-Garcia, Tori Reynolds, and more. "Oh Come/ Oh Come/ Sweet Austin Town/ and Hark! The Hotel Herald sings/ of hallways strangely patterned round a tide of blood that's glistening!"

      Queer Cinema: Lost & Found: A wild and gritty underground masterpiece about a young woman in New York, screening with "Valerie," a short about a Black trans sex worker by Joseph Horning. Queer film historian and series programmer Elizabeth Purchell joins for a discussion at the Saturday screening.
