Harvé Franks, horticultural specialist at the Carver Museum and the first Black master gardener in Travis County, will share her story of growing up at her grandparents’ farm in the historic St. John Freedmen’s Colony and their farm-to-table cafe on Airport Boulevard called Ruby’s Kitchen, as well as a project called the Sunken Garden that transformed a decommissioned pool at Carver. Bring seeds and plants to swap afterward if you wish.
Mon., July 10, 6:30pm. Free; membership encouraged.
